Homer Joseph Hoskins died five days before his 83rd birthday on Oct. 11, 1960, at Wright Hospital in Trenton, Missouri.
According to his death certificate, he was born on Oct. 16, 1877, in Grundy County, Missouri, to Cecelia McCuen and Joshua Hoskins. (His mother’s name is misspelled.) Homer was a farmer in Grundy County, married to Mary Hoskins.
Homer’s cause of death was an abdominal tumor, “probably carcinoma.” An autopsy was not performed. He was buried was on Oct. 13, 1960, at Edinburg IOOF Cemetery in Edinburg, Missouri.
