According to his death certificate, Virgil was born on Sept. 19, 1882, in Paris, Kentucky, to Sydney Hall and Phillip Grimes. Virgil was married at the time of his death and lived in rural Saline County near Slater, Missouri. He was a farmer.
Virgil’s cause of death was colon cancer. He was buried on March 14, 1957, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, Missouri.
