Peter Fulkerson

Peter Fulkerson was born on Sept. 26, 1764, in Chester Township, Pennsylvania — one of the first districts established in the state. He married Margaret Craig on Oct. 11, 1791, in Washington, Virginia. They had at least eight children. On Christmas Day, 1799, Peter was appointed colonel of Virginia’s 94th Regiment Militia. He also served in Virginia’s House of Delegates for two years starting in 1800. Margaret died in 1839. Peter died on June 23, 1847, in Lee County, Virginia, and is buried there.
